Too often, the insurance industry’s CEOs and lobbyists wield their power for less oversight, more secrecy, and diluted regulation. And, they are getting what they want. Consumers need a stronger voice.
In early 2007 NDPeople.Org Executive Director Don Morrison was appointed one of 15 consumer representatives from around the country to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. In July 2007, we announced our consumer efforts.
NDPeople.Org’s insurance consumer work includes a range of issues including health insurance and the problems with conflict of interest / revolving door of state insurance regulators. The “revolving door” between state regulators of insurance and the insurance industry has been going on for a long time. Here is some of our work to bring greater consumer voice and protection:
